KOTA KINABALU – Sabah PKR has called on the Perikatan Nasional government to  immediately stop harassing the opposition’s elected representatives and focus on the big issues plaguing the country.

Sabah PKR Youth information chief and state Pakatan Harapan youth secretary Razeef Rakimin said the current government needs to accept the fact that they do not have the support of the majority of MPs in the state.

Razeef said the government should focus on addressing the spread of Covid-19 as well as work to develop the economy.

“The Sheraton Move takeover last year paved the way for the outbreak of the Covid-19 outbreak.

“The craze to seize several states has resulted in the country being nearly paralysed by thousands of cases a day.

“The opposition is trying not to play politics and wants to be with the government in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic.

“But to this day PN is still trying to entice opposition MPs by offering various political incentives in order to maintain their political power.

“Is power in today's situation more important than the welfare of the people affected by Covid-19?” he asked.

Razeef also reminded opposition MPs, especially in PH, to not betray the mandate given by the people who have elected them.

“Political gifts such as money, projects, and positions will not be able to redeem your dignity and that of your family which has been tarnished by betrayal.

“I am confident that the people will bring down the traitors in the next general election because the people already know their voting power after bringing down the BN government in the last election.”

The PN government came to power when Bersatu pulled out of the PH coalition, which led to the collapse of the 22-month old PH administration after the 2020 Malaysian political crisis event nicknamed the Sheraton Move. – The Vibes, February 27, 2021
