KOTA KINABALU – The Sabah Community Development and People’s Well-being Ministry will provide the database for the state’s implementation of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

Minister Shahelmey Yahya said it is ready to ease the process of identifying early recipients of the vaccine, including senior citizens and disabled persons.

“We will be in contact with the state Health Department to see how we can help in the registration process,” he told the press after a blood donation drive at Nurul Iman Mosque in Kg Pasir Putih, Putatan, today.

The ministry has the data on Sabah’s senior citizens, disabled persons and orphans.

Shahelmey’s comments follow Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun’s statement that senior citizens and the disabled must be prioritised in the second phase of the vaccination programme.

He called on all eligible Sabahans to get vaccinated voluntarily, so that the community is protected.

“Getting the Covid-19 vaccine is not only an act of protecting yourself, but you will also protect the community as a whole.” –The Vibes, February 28, 2021
