KUALA LUMPUR – The authorities have implemented the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) in Kg Binyu Baru in Samarahan and Kg Binyu Lama in Kuching Sarawak from tomorrow until April 17, said Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
In a press statement, he said that in Kg Binyu Baru, the Health Ministry (MoH) has conducted screenings on 11 individuals and found four positive Covid-19 cases.
Meanwhile, in Kg Binyu Lama, MoH found a spike of 57 Covid-19 cases up to April 1.
“After conducting risk assessment studies with multiple agencies in the MCO Technical Task Force and based on the MoH’s advice, the government has agreed to implement the EMCO in Kg Binyu Baru, Samarahan Division, and Kg Binyu Lama, Kuching Division from April 4-17,” the senior minister said here today.
In related news, six individuals were arrested yesterday for breaching the MCO standard operating procedures (SOPs), of which five were issued compounds and one individual was held in remanded custody.
Three of the offenders failed to register personal records in MySejahtera or manually, two were crossing district/state lines without authorisation and one did not wear any face mask.
Similarly, the border patrol Ops Benteng had arrested one illegal migrant and five smugglers and seized three land transport vehicles. – The Vibes, April 3, 2021
