Govt wants early decision on interstate travel nods for Raya
Having a heads up in whether interstate travel is allowed for Aidilfitri will help the people make the necessary preparations, especially those crossing state borders to go home via public transport, says Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. – Bernama pic, April 10, 2021

JOHOR BARU – The government will ask the Health Ministry (MoH) to make an early announcement on its decision whether to allow interstate travel in conjunction with Aidilfitri celebrations, said Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Ismail said this would help the public make preparations, and help those using public transportation to purchase tickets sooner so they can return to their hometowns.

“This matter is under the purview of MoH and it will conduct a risk assessment (on the matter),” he told reporters after attending an afternoon tea event with the residents of the Army Combat Training Centre (Pulada) in Ulu Tiram here today.

Meanwhile, he announced that the government has allocated about RM1.34 million to upgrade basic facilities at Pulada, including its mosque, fences and accommodations. – Bernama, April 10, 2021
