KOTA KINABALU – The Sabah Federation of Chinese Associations hailed Sabah’s decision not to implement a total lockdown, but to maintain existing health procedures under the conditional movement control order (CMCO).
Its president Tan Sri T. C. Goh said the move would keep economic activities going in spite of the pandemic, adding that the Chinese communities appreciated such a move.
“This is necessary so that Sabah can continue to operate under the CMCO, which allows the people to carry on with their lives and economic activities,” he said after getting his vaccination here today.
On another note, he added that the people should adopt a rational and positive attitude towards vaccination by looking at scientific facts, instead of simply listening to baseless rumours being circulated on social media.
Meanwhile, Goh expressed empathy for the state’s tourism industry, which is currently still in an extremely difficult situation.
He said that he hoped the government could continue to provide industry players necessary assistance under the Prihatin Rakyat stimulus package, to help them get through this devastating situation.
“Fortunately, our oil palm industry is currently thriving with the international crude palm oil price now at an all-time high.
