20% of Sarawak’s 533 new Covid-19 cases in Miri

MIRI – Of Sarawak’s 533 new Covid-19 cases today, the district here logged 109, or 20% of the total.

The state also recorded one coronavirus fatality, a 60-year-old woman at Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching, taking its toll to 215.

In a statement, the state Disaster Management Committee secretariat conveyed its condolences to the victim’s family.

Kapit recorded 69 new infections, Sibu (58), Bintulu (46), Kuching (42), Belaga (40), Sarikei (28), Selangau (26), Meradong (21), Pakan (18), Kanowit (15) and other districts (fewer than 15).

The secretariat said the new Sg Rayah cluster in Meradong saw 13 longhouse residents testing positive for the virus.
