MIRI – Six more Covid-19 fatalities today brings the death toll to 300 in Sarawak.

The state Disaster Management Committee (DMC) secretariat said in a statement that one of the victims was a 27-year-old woman in Sibu who suffered from asthma.

The other victims were a 65-year-old man in Bintulu Hospital; a 77-year-old man brought dead to Mukah Hospital from his house; a 72-year-old man in Sibu Hospital; a 66-year-old man in Serian Hospital; and a 72-year-old man in Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching.

The state also has 703 new cases today with Kuching district logging 218.

Bintulu has 142 new cases, followed by Miri (98), Sibu (40), Marudi (32), Kapit (31), and other districts (fewer than 20 cases each).

The DMC said Sarawak has one new cluster: the Jalan Haji Lampan cluster in Miri, where 22 workers in a food and entertainment outlet were infected by Covid-19.
