BEAUFORT – A 31-year-old man resorted to stabbing his younger brother in the head and chest with a pair of scissors after his mother refused to give him money.
The suspect, believed to be a drug addict, initially ran amok and destroyed furniture in the house, before proceeding to stab his 25-year-old brother who tried to calm him down.
Beaufort police chief Yusoff Zaki Mat Yaacob said the victim was trying to advise his brother against destroying items in their home when the suspect suddenly stabbed him.
“The suspect picked up a pair of scissors and stabbed him in the head and chest.
“Police arrived at the scene after being alerted to the incident, and were able to prise the weapon away from the suspect before detaining him.
“The younger brother was sent to Beaufort Hospital for treatment,” he said.
The suspect is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means. – The Vibes, September 9, 2021
