KUALA LUMPUR – Flat Sg Emas and Plaza Hentian Kajang in Selangor, and Kg Hj Baki in Sarawak will be placed under enhanced movement control order, said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said residents cannot simply enter or exit those areas unless for medical emergencies.

He added places of worship and schools will be closed throughout the EMCO.

“The EMCO for Flat Sg Emas and Plaza Hentian Kajang in Selangor as well as Kuching’s Kg Hj Baki will begin tomorrow until November 10,” he said in his daily press briefing today.

He added the EMCO for the Penang Remand Prison and staff quarters will be extended for another 14 days from Friday to November 11.

The EMCO at Flat Sg Emas (Jalan Emas 31 and 32) will affect some 1,300 residents while the restrictions at Plaza Hentian Kajang will affect 7,500 people.

“The EMCO in Kg Hj Baki will involve 532 houses and 4,191 residents.”

He said the Health Ministry will coordinate targeted screening at these areas, with food supply to be coordinated and distributed via command centres there.

Besides that, Ismail Sabri said a total of 612 individuals have been arrested for violating conditional MCO.

“Out of the 612 individuals, 604 were issued a compound, while eight were remanded.” – The Vibes, October 27, 2020
