KUCHING – A police permit is not required for inter-district travel in Sarawak effective tomorrow.
However, said the state Disaster Management Committee in a statement today, such permits are still needed for interstate travel.
“Visiting is also not encouraged, and the public should have a high level of self-control as we are still combating Covid-19.”
It said children aged 12 and below should not leave the house for the time being unless they really need to, in which case, they should be accompanied by parents or guardians who are fully vaccinated, and must comply with the standard operating procedures.
Only 21 of the 1,361 new coronavirus cases in the state today require oxygen support or ventilators.
Sarawak has seen a total of 218,126 infections, and recorded 16 deaths from September 24 to yesterday. – Bernama, October 5, 2021
