MIRI – Sarawak recently witnessed its youngest Covid-19 death – a 5-year-old boy who died of the virus in the hospital here three days ago.

The state Disaster Management Committee secretariat today said a screening result confirmed that he died of Covid-19 and that he also suffered from obesity.

The state recorded another 14 deaths – bringing the toll to 950 – and 1,126 infections.

Aside from the boy, an 89-year-old has also died of Covid-19 here. The rest were recorded in Bintulu (3), Sri Aman (2), Sibu (4) and Kuching (3).

Meanwhile, Kuching reported 315 new cases today, followed by Miri (195) and Sibu (117), with other districts logging dozens of cases each.
