MIRI – It was a terrifying and horribly painful ordeal for Bidayuh community leader Datuk Peter Minos, who was on death’s door for at least 14 days as a Category 5 Covid-19 patient.
“The suffering I went through was terrifying and horribly painful. Listen to me, please do whatever possible to not get infected by Covid-19,” Minos said after surviving his ordeal.
“When I was admitted to Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching, I was already in Category 4 and it escalated to Category 5.
“The pain in my body was excruciating. The experience I went through during 14 days of intensive suffering was terrifying.
I nearly died, but the doctors and nurses at Sarawak General Hospital pulled me back from death.”
Now, the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council chairman is still suffering from lung damage.
“I have been at home for five days after spending two weeks in the ICU.
“I need to go through at least three more months of intensive medication and treatment to repair my lung damage.
“I thank God for giving me back my life and allowing me to be with my family again.”
Category 5 patients are ventilated to help them breathe.
