KUALA LUMPUR – Khalid Samad (Shah Alam-PH) took the opportunity to “thank” Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin (Kinabatangan-BN) for expressing regret over the fall of the Pakatan Harapan government early last year.
Khalid’s comments came after Bung spoke on the political instability in the country.
“I thank the honourable Kinabatangan for expressing regret over the fall of the PH administration, which resulted in political instability in Malaysia given the Perikatan Nasional government had a small majority, and saw another change in government a year later.
“This was caused by an irresponsible group of individuals who jumped parties, whose betrayal resulted in the heated political climate we see today,” Khalid said in Dewan Rakyat.
Earlier, Bung Moktar urged stability at the federal level, saying that any instability would see investments dwindle.
He added that he is not different from Khalid, as he does not support individuals switching parties.
“When they were jumping in Sabah, I was the last man standing who stood his ground.
“If we win, we win. If we lose, we lose. I’m sure the honourable Shah Alam stands with me to support the anti-hopping law.”
Bung Moktar also took the opportunity to criticise the federal government over allocations provided for Sabah’s development.
He said Sabah and Sarawak as a whole has a larger land area than Peninsular Malaysia, but their development allocations do not differ with other states.
“Similarly, allocations for parliamentary representatives must be evaluated based on areas and needs.
“I demand again that the federal government give allocations to Sabah and let them be implemented by the state.
“If they continue to be managed by the federal government, Sabah will never be as successful as Selangor or Penang.” – The Vibes, November 9, 2021
