ALOR STAR – The number of flood victims in Kedah has dropped to 287 people from 79 families as of 8am today, as compared to 290 people from 80 families last night.

Kedah Civil Defence Force Disaster Management Committee Secretariat chief Mohd Muaz Mohd Yusof said all evacuees are still seeking shelter at three relief centres in the Pendang and Kubang Pasu districts as of this morning.

“In Pendang, 147 victims from 36 families are at Dewan Rakan Sukan, Tanah Merah, while another 55 from 19 families are at Dewan Cenderawasih,” he said in a statement today.

Muaz said in Kubang Pasu, 85 evacuees from 24 families are still at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Kg Tradisi Lembah Keriang relief centre.

He said in preparation for further floods, another relief centre in the district, SK Malau is still operating even though all victims had returned home. – Bernama, November 11, 2021
