MIRI – The city is set to see an additional 695 housing units costing RM300,000 each after receiving construction approval.
Sarawak caretaker chief minister Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg today said the houses are to be located at Vista Perdana Phase 3 about 20km from the city centre, here.
Speaking after the groundbreaking ceremony, he said the houses will be allocated for private sector employees and civil servants.
“The affordable houses in Vista Perdana are for the B40 group in Miri.
“The project will be handled by the National Housing Corporation and a Sarawak company.
“It will cost RM300,000 per unit. Each single-storey house will have three rooms, as well as two toilets and bathrooms.
“The state government will assist in securing loans and housing deposits for interested buyers,” he said.
The new housing scheme, he said, will help alleviate the housing needs for the city’s populace and will suffice for a family to live comfortably.
The state government, he said, is aware of the housing needs of the rakyat and has taken steps to overcome the shortages in cities and big towns.
Abang Johari added that more affordable houses are also being planned for Bintulu, Sibu and Kuching. – The Vibes, November 24, 2021
