PASIR PUTEH — A foreigner with his neck almost severed in a life-threatening injury was taken to Tengku Anis Hospital, here, yesterday evening.

Pasir Puteh district police chief DSP Mohd Azmir Damiri said they received a report from the hospital at 7.30pm last night.

“Police immediately went to the hospital to question the victim but his condition was quite serious and he could not speak,” Mohd Azmir said when contacted here today.

He said initial investigations found that the victim had no identification on him and was believed to be a Myanmar national.

Investigations were still underway to identify the cause of the victim’s condition and it has not been confirmed whether the victim’s neck was slashed in a fight almost severing it as spread on social media.
