KULAI – National Recovery Council Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin took a swipe at Muda saying that the newly formed party does not have big numbers and remains unstructured.
Commenting on potential battles between Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Muda in the upcoming Johor polls, the Bersatu chairman added that he is unsure if Muda even has branches in the right places.
“Muda is still young, it still does not have big numbers, only a small number of members.
“We are not even sure if they have divisions in Kulai, it is still unstructured,” Muhyiddin told a press conference after a meet and greet session with residents at Felda Taib Andak here.
He commended Muda’s bravery for presenting fresh candidates, but also mentioned that it is a new party without signs of struggle.
“It will be up to the voters to decide if Muda is capable or not.”
Meanwhile, regarding campaign standard operating procedures for the election, the former prime minister said that conditions are still strict.
Touching on campaign speeches, Muhyiddin said proposals require candidates to hold speeches in party command centres and pointed out it may be far away for individuals to attend.
“It’s not practical, because they allow social events like weddings at the same time.
“I hope they will reconsider and loosen some of the conditions, such as allowing candidates to visit places and introduce themselves,” he added. – The Vibes, February 23, 2022
