SHAH ALAM – The Selangor Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry yesterday inspected a well-known restaurant in Subang Jaya and seized meat from the premises, following a viral clip alleging that the curry noodles served there contain pork.
The state ministry’s director, Muhamad Zikril Azan Abdullah, said checks showed that the restaurant has a halal certificate issued by the Malaysian Islamic Development Department that is valid until November 30.
“According to the restaurant manager, he employs three Myanmar nationals as cooks,” he said in a statement.
“An inspection of the eatery’s kitchen saw the meat used in the dish, believed to be chicken meat, seized for lab testing.”
Also seized was the outlet’s halal certificate and its supplier’s raw material delivery documents.
Zikril Azan said the case is being investigated under the Trade Descriptions (Definition of Halal) Order 2011. – Bernama, November 14, 2020
