A MAN who went viral after allegedly attacking the driver of a Perodua Myvi at a crossroads has come forward to explain the incident via the comments section on the TikTok app.
Using the @acoi2.0 account on TikTok, he also appealed for the video of the incident to be deleted.
According to him, the incident occurred after he lost his temper when the Myvi driver allegedly cut in front of his car, almost causing an accident.
He claimed that he was with his wife and their newborn baby, so the Myvi driver's actions raised concerns for his family's safety.
He insisted that he acted out of anger after claiming that the lives of his wife and child were in danger due to the driver's actions.
"What if I had an accident? He has endangered me, my wife and my child. Who wouldn't be angry if he acts like a thug who cuts off people's cars,” he wrote.
However, the explanation received various reactions from netizens who generally considered his actions inappropriate even in the face of a situation that provoked anger.
A user, ohmignonette, said that the other driver’s mistake is not an excuse to act physically.
“Even if it’s true that the person was at fault, that’s no excuse to get out of the car and act physically. Save the dashcam footage, write down the registration number and lodge a police report. “Especially when you’re with your wife and children. A few minutes of losing your temper can cause much bigger problems,” he said.
Another user, shariff_aqua, shared a similar opinion, saying that anger is not the best solution, even though the driver of the blue vehicle did something wrong.
“Wrong is still wrong, but we have laws. You can lodge a police report. With anger like that, the problem will not be solved, but instead create new problems,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, user alphathron1985 described the man’s actions as immature and questioned his plea for the video to be deleted.
“He’s like a thug. Acting without using brains. Begging people to delete the video again,” he said.
However, so far, the authorities have not issued any official statement regarding the incident.
Matter resolved amicably
Meanwhile, acting Melaka Tengah District Police Chief, Superintendent Halim Abas, said initial investigations were conducted into both individuals involved in the incident.
According to him, the investigation found that the altercation had erupted following a misunderstanding while on the road, leading to the incident.
“The complainant and suspect were called to give statements, and both parties reached an understanding and reconciled amicably.
