KOTA KINABALU – Two new Covid-19 clusters have been detected in Sabah, totalling 39 cases.
“The Alila cluster in Tuaran has 23 cases involving construction workers at the resort (of the same name), and the Istimewa cluster in Sandakan has 16 cases,” said Sabah Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
He said of the 391 Covid-19 cases in the state today, 136 were from Tawau, Kota Kinabalu, and Sandakan and detected via close contact screening. The remaining 255 cases are from other categories.
Masidi added two deaths were recorded today in Kota Kinabalu while a total of 358 patients have been discharged from the hospital.
“Sixty-five patients are in intensive care and 23 are on ventilators.”
Meanwhile, a total of 2,475 patients are receiving treatment, with 678 at hospitals and 1,797 at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres.
He said the state’s Health Department is constantly monitoring the need to open new centres, and that one PKRC has been opened in Kudat at SMK Abdul Rahim with a capacity of 98 beds. – The Vibes, November 14, 2020
