KUALA LUMPUR – The post of National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) chairman is presently vacant after Wan Saiful Wan Jan confirmed today that he has not held the post since June 17.

In a short post on his Facebook page, the Bersatu information chief said there does not need to be a question mark on the report by Utusan Malaysia this morning over his status as the GLC’s head.

Saya rasa tak perlu ada tanda soalan pada laporan ini. Seingat saya, memang sudah lama saya sebutkan secara terbuka...

“As to my next step, just wait until that next step comes,” he added in the post.

His response comes after the report raised questions over his status in the GLC as no official statement was issued by PTPTN despite its website revealing that the position has been vacated.

The report also highlighted speculation that Wan Saiful would be the possible replacement for a ministerial position under Bersatu’s quota following Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin’s departure from the party.

Despite having dismissed the report, Wan Saiful has yet to address rife speculation that he would be replacing Zuraida as a minister.
