KUALA LUMPUR – Pakatan Harapan (PH) has not discussed the possible concurrent dissolution of the Selangor and Negri Sembilan assemblies along with Parliament if the 15th general election (GE15) is called in the next few months, Anthony Loke said.

The DAP secretary-general said the PH presidential council will only hold talks on the two states when Parliament is dissolved.

“The previous decision was to wait until the state governments serve their full term,” he said at a press conference at DAP headquarters today.

Yesterday, Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the Penang assembly could follow in Parliament’s footsteps if the latter is dissolved for a year-end general election.

Selangor and Negri Sembilan held state polls together with GE14 in 2018, which means the term for their respective assemblies expires next year.

Asked if PH is ready to face GE15, Loke said the coalition had formed several committees to gear up for the upcoming national polls.

He announced these committees as well as the DAP leaders appointed to represent the party there:

Seat Negotiation Committee: Steven Sim Chee Keong, Tengku Zulpuri Shah Raja Puji and Sivakumar Varatharaju Naidu

Strategy Committee – Liew Chin Tong, Syahredzan Johan, Wong Shu Qi

Mobilisation Committee – Ng Suee Lim, Sheikh Umar Bagharib Ali, Wu Him Ven

Manifesto Committee – Chan Foong Hin, Lee Chuan How, Kasthuriraani Patto – The Vibes, August 3, 2022
