KOTA KINABALU – Datuk Wetrom Bahanda, the Bandau assemblyman speculated to have left Bersatu for Warisan, now appears to have signed up with Parti Kesejahteraan Masyarakat (KDM).

Photos of Wetrom signing a KDM membership form and shaking hands with KDM president Datuk Peter Anthony are going viral on social media.

KDM is one of the four Sabah parties that have applied to join Gabungan Rakyat Sabah.

Wetrom has been rumoured to be eyeing the Kota Marudu seat, which has traditionally been a Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) seat. The incumbent here is PBS president Datuk Seri Maximus Ongkili.

“Wait for my official announcement,” Wetrom said when asked by The Vibes over the viral pictures.

Wetrom was previously seen meeting with Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal over the weekend.

His meeting with Shafie followed his announcement that he would contest on a Warisan ticket in the general election.

Wetrom and Bersatu have yet to confirm his alleged departure from the party. – The Vibes, October 19, 2022
