KOTA KINABALU – Sabah DAP will not follow its Sarawakian members in using the rocket logo for the upcoming general election, as it has previously decided to use the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition’s image.

Sabah DAP chairman, Datuk Frankie Poon, said although the PH logo is not as popular as DAP’s trademark rocket in Sabah, the party was confident that voters will accept the image after two weeks of campaigning.

“Sabah DAP has taken the decision of using the PH logo after much discussion and consideration among the state committee members.

“Although the PH logo is less recognised (than the rocket), we are sure that it will be well known after two weeks.

“It is important that we all (PH parties) work as a big family for a great Malaysia under PH,” he told The Vibes in a brief message.

Poon was asked about Sabah DAP’s stance on the use of the party logo for the upcoming polls, as its members in Sarawak have decided against using the PH banner.

This comes after Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen said candidates in his state will continue using its rocket logo for GE15 earlier today.

Chong said the decision was made to avoid confusion among voters in the state, as they are familiar with the rocket logo. – The Vibes, October 23, 2022
