KUALA LUMPUR – Malay voters must not only look at their leaders’ race, but should vote for those who show firm and brave leadership, said Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Taking anti-PH and anti-DAP rhetoric by the horns in a speech in Kuala Terengganu today, Anwar told a gathering of local PH leaders and supporters not to fall for rivals’ rhetoric against the coalition because DAP was part of it.

“If Anwar becomes prime minister, they say Chinese DAP will be the one pulling the strings and Anwar will follow.

“This comes from people who say oh, prices of goods are going up but just be patient, Allahuakbar (God is great),” Anwar said, referring to PAS, which rules Terengganu.

His video of his speech in Kuala Terengganu was posted on his Facebook page.

“These ministers take a salary but don’t do any work,” he said, adding that it was better for Malay voters to choose clean and honest candidates.

“The problem is not whether they are Malay, Chinese, or Indian leaders.

“If we vote in a stupid Malay as a leader, of course he will lose out to a smart Chinese. But if we vote for both Malay and Chinese leaders who are smart and clean, we can lead and stop corruption together with Sabah and Sarawak leaders,” the PKR president said.

Anwar said Malay voters should choose Chinese candidates who are clean, against corruption, smart, and who understand Malaysia’s situation.

“God willing, I, together with (Amanah president) Mohamad Sabu and (DAP secretary-general) Anthony Loke want to correct all of this if we can get the support.” – The Vibes, November 11, 2022
