PETALING JAYA – Pakatan Harapan’s Sg Buloh candidate Datuk R. Ramanan said as someone who is campaigning to be an MP, he needs to be able to ask the questions that the people are seeking answers to.

This, Ramanan said, is why he keeps talking about Khairy Jamaluddin’s alleged controversies and service record.

“It is not my intention to get personal with Khairy but there are valid questions he needs to answer as the health minister.

“Covid-19 management, vaccines, his candidacy here which seems parachuted in... so many things need answers.

“Is he using Sg Buloh as a stepping stone to one day be prime minister? His own party president seems reluctant to anoint him, so he cannot give voters false expectations,” Ramanan told a ceramah in Kota Damansara here last night.

“Khairy keeps talking about being prime minister, not about issues in Sg Buloh.

“I don’t want to be prime minister,  I want to be someone who serves the people of Sg Buloh,” Ramanan said.

“As Sg Buloh’s representative in Parliament, I will ask and keep asking questions until I get answers,” he said.

Met after the ceramah, Ramanan said PKR is a party that places high value on integrity.

“The cost of vaccines, the MySejahtera ownership controversy – how much taxpayers paid for it and if their personal data is protected – are valid questions, which Khairy and the government he represents have failed to answer convincingly,” Ramanan said.

“Just because I ask these questions, the other camp labels me as not contesting like a gentleman.

“Sometimes, to get a direct answer you need to ask a direct question. Khairy is welcome to sue me if he feels whatever I am saying is not true.”

Ramanan added that if indeed a prime minister is what Sg Buloh voters want, then he has this to say to them: “KJ may be PM in 10 years but if you vote for me, you could have (Datuk Seri) Anwar Ibrahim as PM in 10 days.” – The Vibes, Nov 13, 2022
