Nigerian arrested for allegedly flinging step-grandson out apartment window

KUALA LUMPUR – A Nigerian man has been arrested for allegedly flinging his 4-year-old step-grandson out of a window of a third-floor apartment unit in Danau Kota, Setapak, here, today.

Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department head Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid said the 42-year-old suspect was detained at his home shortly after the 8am incident.

He said the incident happened when the suspect attempted to rape his 24-year-old stepdaughter, who is the child’s mother.

“The suspect tried to rape his stepdaughter, who was sleeping at the time. He was stopped by his wife and three other stepdaughters.

“The suspect became furious, and started hitting and stomping on his wife and four stepdaughters,” he told Bernama.

He said the man then hit his step-grandson, before flinging the boy out of a window.

The suspect’s 49-year-old wife shouted for help and rushed to get the attention of neighbours and security guards.

“The suspect tried to escape by jumping out of a window, and was injured. He was detained by the public and security guards at the apartment,” said Nik Ros Azhan.

He said the man was taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL).

“The remains of the boy were taken to HKL.”

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. – Bernama, November 29, 2020
