LANGKAWI – Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah has taken to social media to dismiss speculations about his ill health, saying they were all lies.

The Langkawi MP said he would pray for mercy for those who had spread rumours of his medical condition.

Suhaimi, who is also the co-board chairman of the Langkawi Development Authority (Lada), said he visited the island last night and today, he will be helping to campaign in the Padang Serai parliamentary by-election.

He also posted photographs of him meeting with his service centre members and residents in Langkawi.

The Vibes has since reached out to Suhaimi but has yet to receive a response.

Suhaimi reportedly underwent a kidney transplant in Vietnam, weeks before polling day on November 19.

An official with Langkawi Bersatu said that they were not informed about Suhaimi’s health status but confirmed that he has a kidney condition.

“Our Datuk (Suhaimi) at times goes in and out of hospital for treatment. So perhaps, this latest speculation is about him just going in for his routine checks.”

He won Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s stronghold with a 13,518-vote majority and on the Perikatan Nasional (PN) ticket.

Besides Dr Mahathir, Suhaimi also defeated Datuk Armishah Siraj of Barisan Nasional, Zabidi Yahya of Pakatan Harapan, and independent Datuk Abdul Kadir Sainudin.

PN swept through Kedah, winning 13 out of the 15 parliamentary seats except for Sg Petani. – The Vibes, December 3, 2022
