KUALA LUMPUR – PAS has expressed its disappointment following Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s apparent allegations that Perikatan Nasional (PN)’s election funds were derived from gambling companies.

In a statement issued in the wee hours this morning, PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan described the accusations as baseless and called on Anwar to present clear evidence over the “wild allegations”.

“If (he) fails, PN will consider taking actions against parties that have slandered us,” he added.

Anwar reportedly made the allegation during a press conference yesterday, when he apparently implied that PN’s election funds partly came from gaming companies involved in special draws.

During the same press conference, Anwar also announced the government’s decision to reduce the frequency of special draws to only eight a year from 22 previously. – The Vibes, December 6, 2022
