BATANG KALI – The search-and-rescue operation for victims of the landslide at the Father’s Organic Farm campsite in Gohtong Jaya, here, was suspended at 10pm today.

Hulu Selangor district police chief Suffian Abdullah, who confirmed the matter, said the operation was suspended due to unfavourable weather and for safety reasons.

“Yes, stand down tonight and the operation will resume at 8am tomorrow,” he said.

The search team found the body of an adult man at 11.16am today in Sector B (Farmview camp) of the area, bringing the death toll to 26.

The landslide which occurred at 2.42am last Friday has seen 61 victims being rescued, while seven others are still missing. It was reported that 94 people were involved in the tragedy. – Bernama, December 21, 2022
