JOHOR BARU – The Johor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) detained a government-linked company (GLC) staffer on suspicion of submitting false claims amounting to RM10,000 a few years ago.

According to a source, the 39-year-old woman was detained at 10am today while giving her statement at the Johor MACC office, here.

“The suspect is said to have submitted false claims from 2017 to 2019 to a GLC that she worked for the implementation of programmes in a district, but the programmes were not fully carried out,” said the source.

Meanwhile, Johor MACC director Datuk Azmi Alias when contacted today confirmed the detention of the staffer, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.

However, the woman was later released on MACC bail. – Bernama, January 6, 2023
