JOHOR BARU – Johor police will tighten controls to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures at premises in the state capital and in Batu Pahat and Kulai following enforcement of the conditional movement control order in these areas starting tomorrow.
State police chief Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said they would not compromise with violations.
He said special teams involving the Health Ministry, People’s Voluntary Corps (Rela), and other agencies were ready to be mobilised to do monitoring and snap checks on standard operating procedure compliance.
“People should not complain once we start issuing compounds or fines or make arrests,” he said today.
Ayob Khan said that of the 23 roadblocks set up across Johor, 13 remained for the purpose of “Ops Benteng” to curb human trafficking at the state’s west and east coasts.
Yesterday, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaacob said the CMCO would be implemented in Johor Baru, Batu Pahat, and Kulai from tomorrow until December 20, while ending in Mersing today and being extended in Kota Tinggi from December 7 to 20. – Bernama, December 7, 2020
