KUALA LUMPUR – A small commotion broke out when former Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman was denied entry to the Pasir Salak Umno division meeting today.

Security personnel had allegedly stopped Tajuddin, who arrived at Dewan Besar Bandar Baru Felcra Seberang Perak at 9.50am.

They had allegedly stopped him at the main gate as his Umno membership had been suspended.

Following the incident, he left the building and waited in a car parked outside the area.

Contacted by Getaran, The Vibes’ Bahasa Malaysia sister portal, Tajuddin said he only came to witness the divisional election.

Tajuddin’s eldest son, Faizal Tajuddin, is running for the Pasir Salak Umno division chief post in the party election today. He will face former deputy division chief Khairul Azwan Harun, better known as AzwanBro.

“I was not chased away, just stopped from entering the hall area. Such an incident has never happened before and there was no concrete reason why I was stopped,” he said.

He said the incident was very disrespectful, considering he was the former division chief.

“It is an arrogant act. A former Pasir Salak Umno division chief has been denied entry. This has never happened before,” he said.

On March 12, Tajuddin’s daughter, Datin Sri Rahayu Tajuddin, was elected Pasir Salak Wanita Umno chief after defeating incumbent Datuk Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin during the party’s wings’ election.

Umno suspended Tajuddin in October last year and he was not chosen to defend the Pasir Salak parliamentary seat in the 15th general election a month later.

In June last year, Tajuddin was sacked from the party’s Supreme Council and in July, he was dropped as Malaysia’s ambassador to Indonesia. – The Vibes, March 18, 2023
