BATU GAJAH – Police have arrested three Myanmar men in connection with the murder of their compatriot at a plastic waste factory dormitory at Laluan Industri 4 in Bandar Baru Siputeh, near Pusing, on Saturday.

District police chief Ahmad Adnan Basri said the 9.45pm incident began as a minor fight among the suspects and the 36-year-old victim.

“The argument started because all four of them were drunk at the dormitory.

“They started arguing and got into a scuffle, before the victim was stabbed with a pair of scissors in the left ribs,” he said in a statement today.

Adnan said a Bangladeshi factory worker, who was at the scene, alerted the employer to the fight before contacting police.

“At around 4am on Sunday, a police team from the Batu Gajah police headquarters arrested the main suspect, aged 36, as he was returning to the dormitory.

“The suspect admitted to killing his friend. The police then detained two more suspects, aged 29 and 30, at Jalan Bota, Tronoh, around 8.45pm yesterday.”

He said police had confiscated a pair of scissors believed to have been used in the brawl.

All three suspects have been remanded for seven days. – Bernama, December 8, 2020
