GEORGE TOWN – Police personnel at the Timur Laut district police headquarters were given a rude awakening this morning when a motorist rammed his vehicle into the security perimeter fencing of the premises.

In the 1am incident, the suspect was allegedly driving through Jalan Pattani when he lost control of his vehicle before it skidded straight into the fencing.

It is learnt that policemen on duty had initially presumed that it was fireworks but instead discovered the car wedged into the fencing and a dazed driver climbing out.

Traffic police recorded a statement from the driver and also subjected him to a breathalyser test.

Northeast district police head Soffian Santong confirmed the case, saying that police are investigating the matter. – The Vibes, April 22, 2023
