JOHOR BARU – PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan revealed that former Ketereh Umno division chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa and former Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin are most likely to join the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition.

According to a Sinar Harian report today, PAS had informed Annuar of their decision to welcome him during the beginning of Ramadan, with Takiyuddin saying that the party had no objections in considering the former Ketereh MP’s application.

However, Takiyuddin pointed out that the decision as to whether Annuar will participate in upcoming state polls has yet to be determined.

Meanwhile, with regards to Khairy, Takiyuddin said that the former health minister’s response was not specific.

Takiyuddin said that Khairy will not be with Barisan Nasional or Pakatan Harapan, and that thus the best choice for him currently is PN.

“I expect he will be with us in Selangor or Negri Sembilan,” Takiyuddin told reporters during the Hari Raya open house organised at the Kota Baru constituency.

Explaining further, Takiyuddin said Khairy’s membership could either be with any of PN’s component parties, whether PAS or Bersatu.

Alternatively, Khairy could also be a direct member of PN.

“Any Malaysian that is not a member of any party can apply to become a member of PN and can be approved by the PN’s supreme council.

“It is simple; he does not have to be a member of any party,” Takiyuddin added.

In another development, Takiyuddin also mentioned that PN has received 20 applications from former Umno members to join the coalition. – The Vibes, May 1, 2023
