“The operations also recorded a total of eight arrests under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act (ADB) 1952.

“The highest are cases under Section 15(1)(a) ADB 1952, which recorded 115 arrests,” he said in a statement today.

Zaki said that the drugs seized in this operation were estimated to be usable by a total of 28,966 drug addicts.

According to him, a total of 21 hardcore or repeat drug addicts were also charged under Section 39C of the ADB 1952 during the operations.

“Action was also taken under the Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1988, where property was seized, namely cash, money in accounts, and vehicles, worth RM83,164.46.

“This success is the result of continuous action involving all the district police headquarters  and also the cooperation of the community.

“The Kelantan police contingent, especially the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID), will continue to work to combat drug abuse and drug trafficking activities in the state,” he said.

He also urged the community to continue to channel information related to drug trafficking activities via the NCID hotline at 012-208 7222. – Bernama, May 19, 2023
