MIRI – Sri Aman police have detained eight secondary school boys after assault allegations involving sexual bullying against a fellow male schoolmate surfaced.

Acting district police chief Zuriawati Zainal Abidin today said the eight were nabbed after they were identified, including from video evidence.

“There is a police report lodged on June 25 by the victim. There is also evidence from a video being circulated.

“The eight students are schoolmates of the alleged victim. They have been taken to the police station for questioning,” she said in a press statement.

The victim claimed to have been physically abused by the aggressors, who had also allegedly touched his private parts during the bullying.

Zuriawati said police are probing into the group for alleged physical and sexual assault against the victim, who is a minor.

Police did not reveal the school’s identity or the ages of those involved in the case. – The Vibes, June 28, 2023
