KUALA LUMPUR – Former Kedah and Sabah football team captain Baddrol Bakhtiar said he decided to join politics to defend Kedah caretaker menteri besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor and to fight for the people and religion.

The 35-year-old said he also wants to safeguard the rights of any individual being attacked by others.

“That is why I am committed to fighting for Sanusi and defending Kedah, which is under his leadership,” he told reporters at an event in Padang Terap, Kedah, yesterday.

Also present was Padu assemblyman Radzi Amin and former Kedah footballer Radhi Mat Din.

Radhi was the PAS candidate for the Pokok Sena parliamentary seat in the 14th general election, and is also expected to contest in the state polls next month.

Baddrol said he would leave it to the leadership to decide on his candidacy.

“I believe that if we are sincere and honest in our struggles, anything is possible,” he said. – The Vibes, July 22, 2023
