IPOH – Parit MP Datuk Nizar Zakaria has dismissed allegations that he is one of the 10 Umno lawmakers said to have signed a statutory declaration backing Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as prime minister.

“I have never signed any SD in support of Anwar. I will never betray Umno and Barisan Nasional.

“I will always adhere to the principles, and abide by all Umno instructions and decisions,” he told Bernama when contacted today.

Nizar has been named in news reports as one of the 10 Umno MPs backing the opposition leader’s bid to wrest federal power.

Kinabatangan MP Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin and Kimanis’ Datuk Mohamad Alamin, too, have denied being among the Umno leaders to have signed the SD. – Bernama, December 14, 2020
