IT is summertime, which means the latest movies are hitting cinemas worldwide. Datuk Kamil and Manvir take a look at the processes of making movies in Malaysia and compare them with the filmmaking machinery in countries like South Korea, Australia and India.

What does it take for our local filmmakers to get their movies made and to be played in local cinemas? Both funding and censorship in other nations seem simpler to navigate. Does this point to some bias against local talent or archaic ideas that no longer fly in the current industry?
