KUALA LUMPUR – Having started the season in style, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) FC wing sensation Arif Aiman Mohd Hanapi has picked up the Professional Footballers’ Association of Malaysia (PFAM) February-March 2023 Player of the Month Award.

Arif Aiman was presented the award by PFAM chief executive Izham Ismail in a brief ceremony before kick-off in the Super League match between PDRM FC and JDT at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium last night, according to a PFAM statement today.

The 21-year-old – who was also named Most Valuable Player at the 2021 and 2022 National Football Awards – received a plaque, RM2,000, and protein drink products.

The scorer of five goals in nine league matches this season beat four other candidates in the voting: Sabah import Park Tae-su, his teammate at JDT Fernando Forestieri, Mohamad Faisal Abdul Halim of Selangor, and PDRM goalkeeper Ramadhan Hamid.

This is Arif Aiman’s second time winning the award having first claimed it in March 2021.

The monthly award is an initiative by PFAM to recognise professional players in the country.

The player-selection process is made by a panel of media practitioners who select and shortlist five candidates each month before voting is open to fans at www.pfam.my for a week. – Bernama, April 20, 2023
