The owner of JDT has previously been vocal about the quality of football pitches in Malaysia in general.
He had questioned the decision of certain clubs to reject the Youth and Sports Ministry’s offer to upgrade football pitches in the country.
Earlier, TMJ pledged RM1.5 million to upgrade the pitch at Bukit Jalil National Stadium with the same Zeon Zoysia grass pitch used at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Johor.
It is understood that upgrading works could involve possible re-turfing and will be carried out at the end of the season.
“It will start with the JDT Training Centre and Sultan Ibrahim Stadium to be ready for the 2024 season, “ the club said on Twitter.
