KUALA LUMPUR – Mechanical and electrical engineering company Kejuruteraan Asastera Bhd (KAB) has been nominated to succeed the project for Vienna Home Sdn Bhd, Cosmowealth Housing Development Sdn Bhd and Mah Sing Properties Sdn Bhd as the nominated sub-contractor.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, KAB said this would bring a new project on board with a total contract value worth RM57.1 million.

The contracts comprises electrical, telephone and extra-low voltage services to the M Luna Project (two blocks of service apartments), M Arisa Project (two blocks of apartment suites), and M Oscar Project (two blocks of apartment suites).

Work completion is between 30 to 36 months, it said.

KAB expects the contracts to contribute positively to the future earnings of the group throughout the duration of the contracts, adding that it remains steadfast in driving its expansion plans despite Covid-19 enforced restrictions.

“This contract win is encouraging for us and demonstrates that KAB is well equipped to embrace the new operating environment post-pandemic.

“The confidence of our customers towards our execution capabilities and strategies remains intact," said KAB managing director Datuk Lai Keng Onn.

As the group looks for a better 2021, Lai believes the government’s heightened expectations on sustainability are positive for its growth, as KAB supports diversification towards green energy, energy efficiency and energy technologies which would extensively reduce carbon footprint. – Bernama, December 21, 2020
