SANDAKAN – The Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority Bhd (Felcra) will distribute RM136.4 million under phase two of its 2021 dividend payout to 73,000 programme participants by the end of this week, Rural Development Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said today.

He said the dividend payouts, initiated on April 22, will also benefit 1,367 participants in Sabah.

Mahdzir said participants saw an increase in the payout this year due to the high average price of palm oil over 2021, and also improvements in efficiency at Felcra plantations with the increased use of machinery and mechanical tools.

He said Felcra participants also stand to benefit from a RM161.6 million allocation under the 12th Malaysia Plan to develop supplementary activities such as social amenities, business premises, rural tourism, community engagement, replanting programme, and improving infrastructure in farms nationwide.

This allocation will benefit over 107,000 of Felcra’s participants, Mahdzir said.

“Surely, the Felcra family will also prioritise Sabah; the government has agreed to allocate RM11.17 million for development activities to the state,” he said at an event to distribute dividends for Felcra participants here.

Also present at the ceremony were Felcra Bhd chairman Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub, Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin and Felcra Bhd group chief executive officer Datuk Mat Roni Zakaria. –The Vibes, April 25, 2022
