FOLKS in Sendayan, Seremban, Negri Sembilan can look forward to a brand new RM2 million community hall thanks to the generosity of developer, Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad.

Matrix Concepts will donate RM1 million for the people's project.

With cooperation from the Seremban City Council, the developer will channel RM500,000 for the first phase this year, while the rest will be paid next year.

According to its Group Chairman, Datuk Mohamad Haslah Mohamad Amin, the construction of the hall will be built on a 0.8-ha site near the Bandar Sri Sendayan Health Clinic.

"The construction of the community hall, which is expected to be completed in 2026, is not just a project but symbolises a joint effort with the state government to support infrastructure utilisation initiatives," he said during the fund presentation ceremony in Seremban.

In addition to carrying out the company's corporate social responsibility, Mohamad said the community hall also supports Matrix Concepts Group's aspiration to make Bandar Sri Sendayan a community hub for its surrounding residents.

Mohamad Haslah said the group's CSR activities in the area also included the construction of a RM12mil mosque which can accommodate up to 1,500 people.

Previously, an allocation for the project was approved by the Seremban City Council worth RM2 million to meet the needs of nearly 40 residents' associations with a population of 50,000 households around Bandar Sri Sendayan.

It also provided land and helped finance the construction of a Hindu temple, donated 0.4ha of land for the construction of a gurdwara, and provided a double shop lot to be converted into a church.

Other projects include the construction of a Chinese school, a Tamil school and a national secondary school in the area at a total cost of over RM30mil.

Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun also commended MCHB for its contribution and urged more companies to follow suit. - -The Vibes, January 15, 2024
