A CUSTOMER recently took to social media to raise concerns about the hygiene levels at a supermarket in Semenyih, Selangor after he found a rat carcass on a trolley and droppings on the ground.

@syafiqsyahan wrote in Threads that he was worried over the health hazards this would cause as the supermarket was also a place where food items were sold.

The post quickly went viral, and many netizens expressed concern and disgust over the unhygienic conditions.

In a almost immediate response, the supermarket said the issue had been referred to those concerned, and a thorough cleaning had been carried out.

The supermarket also apologised and thanked the customer for his feedback.

“We will ensure that this kind of thing does not happen again in the future,” the message concluded. - August 13, 2025
