THE Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Shareda) has been urged to play an active role in shaping the state’s Smart City initiatives.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said two Smart Cities planned for Penampang and Kota Kinabalu would mark a new era of urban innovation that combines technology, sustainability and community-driven design.
He said this in conjunction with the 47th Shahreda Nite 2025 at the Maggelan Sutera Harbour Resort yesterday.
In a speech delivered by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam, Hajiji said the State Government remained committed to creating a business-friendly environment that fosters investment and innovation.
Hajiji also commended Shareda’s strong partnership with the State Government.
He said that the property sector remains a key driver of Sabah’s economy by generating investment, employment and long-term value for the people.
Hajiji also assured that efforts to provide affordable, quality housing for the B40 and M40 groups would continue, while encouraging sustainable and green development in line with the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya plan. – October 26, 2025
