MINISTERS from Barisan Nasional (BN) who are allegedly not aligned with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should be sacked to ensure the stability of the Unity Government’s administration.
Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin stated that such a move warrants consideration, following open disputes between BN leaders and the Prime Minister—conflicts that could potentially hinder the smooth implementation of government policies.
According to him, leaders who are part of the government ought to respect administrative principles by refraining from publicly criticising their own government, as doing so creates the impression of a rift within the administration.
"If I were the Prime Minister, I would have dismissed them. I would reshuffle the Cabinet and ensure that those who are not aligned with me do not remain in their positions—in fact, they should not be part of the government at all.
"Because they will end up sabotaging all of the government's policies.
"Perhaps that is the objective behind their actions—to cause the collapse of the government led by Anwar," he said.
He made these remarks when asked to comment on a statement by Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, who suggested that Anthony Loke’s resignation justifies Anwar’s removal of UMNO ministers from the Cabinet and BN from the Federal Government.
Muhyiddin added that BN’s stance is increasingly causing confusion, given that the coalition still has representatives within the government—including a Deputy Prime Minister, as well as various ministers and deputy ministers.
He explained that as members of the government, any dissatisfaction regarding policies or administrative decisions should be addressed through discussions within the party or the Cabinet, rather than being aired publicly.
"In principle, if you are a member of a government, you do not criticise your own government or the parties that are part of that government. That is a standard principle.
"Any issues on which there is no agreement should be discussed within the party or the Cabinet, rather than being aired publicly—which not only reveals rifts but also creates the impression that the Unity Government is on the verge of collapse," he added. – November 7, 2026
