MALAYSIAN social media influencer, model and adult content creator Siew Pui Yi is taking her career in a new direction, focusing instead on the music industry.

She will be debuting as a DJ this month. The social media influencer and model, who goes by the moniker Ms Puiyi, has before forayed into music with her debut single Men-Mory, produced by DJ Goldfish.

The single released on streaming services on Valentine's Day 2022, has since hit more than 1 million on Spotify.

Now taking part in producing music independently, Ms Puiyi plans to release a second single soon. Ms Puiyi is best known for her modelling on the subscription-based content platform, OnlyFans.

Since she started modelling on OnlyFans two years ago, Ms Puiyi has caught international attention. She became the first Southeast Asian to pose for the cover of American adult magazine Penthouse, published in January this year.

She commands a strong fanbase on social media with over 20 million followers on Instagram and 1.3 million on TikTok.

In a press conference held at Privacy, Kuala Lumpur yesterday, the model said despite being empowered by her career thus far, it was never what she originally intended to do. To show her commitment to music, she will no longer be creating adult content.

However, her account on OnlyFans will remain online with no added content as a “show of appreciation” to her fans and those who have supported her throughout her career.

A newly produced short documentary titled “Hands in the Air” further explores the reasons why she decided to quit OnlyFans and go mainstream in the music industry.

The documentary was screened for members of the media at the press conference, and in it, she revealed the decision to quit adult content creation was not easy to make.

As someone who came from a lower-income family, she said her modelling career allowed her to get out of poverty. The video will be available to view on her official YouTube channel and Facebook page.

It is a follow-up to another short documentary titled “The untold truth about the girl with the highest Instagram followers in Malaysia” which sheds light on Ms Puiyi’s decision to enter the music industry, her difficult childhood and passion for music.

However, she will continue building her brand as a model, actor, musician, and entrepreneur. She recently took on a role in the upcoming local movie KL Love Story.

The movie by director Teng Bee, of Kepong Gangster fame, stars Ms Puiyi as a sexy DJ who meets a 50-year-old veteran actor Steve Yap, and they fall in love despite their differences.

Besides to her move to the music industry, Ms Puiyi also revealed she will be taking part in Web 3.0 platforms as she pursues other opportunities to take her work to a more international audience.
